New project coming soon.

Within the next week or so, I'll be recording a project that I'm excited about. All I need is my MIDI cables to finally come in the mail...

But it is one song, which will be available for download very shortly. It will be the first time I'll be charging for a download, but I won't be keeping the money. The song is After May, and all proceeds will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I'll be posting more information when the song is available.

Writer's Block and a New Block

I've discovered recently that new things inspire me. New toys, events, etc. However, while the new is happening, I'm not creative at all. That part of my brain totally shuts down and focuses on whatever is new, whether that be learning how to use the new thing, or adapting life to the new thing. Only after, when things are properly settled, can I channel everything into music. The over stimulation has subsided.

I got a new job roughly 6 weeks ago, and in that time my creative brain shut down. It hasn't turned back on. I pick up the guitar and nothing happens. It could also be that awful buzzing I get when I play it, I really need to take it to a luthier. I'm starting to get comfortable in my job, so my creative brain should turn back on soon. I have tons of ideas that I want to get down and bring to fruition.

But I have more new to adapt to. I was (politely) asked to pack my shit and get out of my current house. I was also informed that I'll no longer have one of my two jobs, a loss of roughly $600 a month. $634.14 to be exact. It came out of nowhere, and a shock.

The good news is that I'll be moving in with my boyfriend, or rather, we'll be moving in together. We've found a wonderful apartment, we just need to get approved first. After that, we'll be golden. Having another person to share bills with is great. And much less stressful.

I desperately want to release new music and play again more, and hopefully once I'm settled in, my creative brain will come back to life and I can use the fancy recording software my boyfriend bought me. Until then, rock on.
